Microreactor<\/span>\"\"<\/td>\n\n
Microreactor<\/span><\/h6>\n

The etched glass chip reactors are the flow equivalent of a round bottomed flask. They come with either 2 or 3 reagent inputs and in 3 sizes \u2013 62.5\u00b5l, 250\u00b5l and 1000\u00b5l. The chip reactors clip into the Heater\/Cooler module for temperature control and can be heated up to 250\u00b0C and cooled down to 0\u00b0C. To flow the reagents in to the micro reactor (and the products out), PTFE pipes are connected using the chip header.<\/p>\n

The output of one reactor can be connected to the input of another to enable multi-step synthesis or reaction quenching in flow.<\/p>\n

Tube Reactor<\/span>\"\"<\/td>\n\n
Tube Reactor<\/span><\/h6>\n

The tube reactor uses PTFE or Stainless Steel tube rather than etched glass and has volumes of either 4ml or 16ml. This enables greater throughput of product e.g. 100s of grams overnight. The reactor sits on a Tube Reactor Heater. The reaction mixture is cooled by the \u201cheat sink\u201d before it exits the system.<\/td>\n

Chip Header<\/span>\"\"<\/td>\n\n
Chip Header<\/span><\/h6>\n

The chip header holds the input and output pipes and connects them to the chip reactor. The header is secured to the chip by the two knurled thumb screws.<\/td>\n

Sample Loops<\/span>\"\"<\/td>\n\n
Sample Loops<\/span><\/h6>\n

The Sample Loops fit in the Reagent Store and allow reagents (or solvents) to be added in-line, rather than having to be pumped through the syringes. In this mode, \u201cbuffer solvents\u201d from the Reagent Pumps push the reagents\/solvents out of the Sample Loops and into the chips. Sample Loops are available in either 1ml, 5ml or 10ml. All the wetted parts are PTFE tube.<\/td>\n

The chip header seal forms the interface between the PTFE pipe and the glass chip. Made from “FFKM” it has the similar chemical resistance to PTFE but is “rubberised” so can form a seal to 30bar (450psi). These are supplied in a pack of 10.<\/td>\n
